US V THEM.

1% of all profits will be donated to community charities and also used to help support injured athletes.

Of the 1.5million boys who are currently playing organised youth football in England, statistics show: only 180 will make it as a Premier League professional. That's a success rate of 0.012%, a story never told. From the outside, you might dream of the lifestyle the sport can afford but for only a small % of individuals does this dream become a reality.

I once shared this dream but like many others, only came so close to realising it. I made my way through academies, all whilst playing at Premier League football clubs and being touted as one of the biggest talents to come out of London. So what went wrong? Having double knee surgery at the age of 20 quickly turned my dream into a nightmare. Unable to perform for the club in the way it 'needed', I was quickly cast aside with no aftercare or qualifications and with no direction to courses or internships. They abandoned me when I needed them most. This put me in such a troubled and unforgiving state of mind: How could the sport I love and have given my childhood to, now deny me any form of help? At this point, I had no hope for a successful future.

My story isn't unique. Every year, in-fact, every day, from sport to business young boys, girls, men and women face a challenge. From broken systems that continually cause damage, to people who constantly tell us "no" or we "can't", to organisations that discriminate based on our gender, race or sexual orientation. No my story definitely isn't unique but it helped open my eyes to the thousands of people who go through the same struggles I faced.

With Certified I created a sportswear brand to represent US, because that's what it has come down to: US v THEM.
